Welcome to Topp Law.

I work with small businesses, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs who are building something meaningful and want thoughtful legal support along the way. As a tax attorney, I help clients think strategically about structure, compliance, and long-term growth so there are fewer surprises and more clarity.

Most of the people I work with are founders, operators, and community leaders. They are busy. They need clear answers, good judgment, and someone who understands both the legal side and the real-world side of running an organization. My goal is to be that steady advisor in the background so you can focus on your work.

I believe legal counsel works best when it’s built on trust. I take the time to understand your business, your goals, and the pressures you’re navigating. I will tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear, and I’ll help you think through decisions in a practical, straightforward way.

Beyond my legal practice, I serve as a director on the Seattle School Board, where I work to strengthen our public education system because I believe public education is the foundation of opportunity and democracy. Healthy businesses, thriving nonprofits, and strong schools are all connected. I’m also the owner of Mission Cantina in West Seattle, where I bring my entrepreneurial experience to running a small local business and stay closely connected to the day-to-day realities my clients face. Outside of work, you’ll often find me in my garden, spending time with my daughter, or playing tennis.
